Feather Provenance
Every feather is recorded before it is woven.
Provenance is central to this work. A feather without a record is just a fragment; a feather with one becomes part of an object's history.
What we record
Where possible, each feather used is documented by species, by the manner in which it was obtained (typically a natural moult from a falconry bird), and by the piece it was ultimately set into.
Full documentation format (falconry name, handler, date of moult) to be finalised and published here once workshop records are digitised.

A note on sourcing
Feathers used in this collection come from birds kept and worked by falconers, and are obtained through natural moult rather than harm to the bird. We do not describe these pieces as authentic Indigenous dreamcatchers; they are avian wall objects inspired by the dreamcatcher form, made using falconry material.
